Man charged as part of sexual exploitation investigation

A 37-year-old man has been charged in connection with the police investigation into sexual exploitation in Yeovil.
Meetu Miah, also known as Jay, of Earle Street, Yeovil, has been charged with control of prostitution for gain, one count of rape of a woman, one count of false imprisonment and one count of trafficking a person within the UK for sexual exploitation.
Miah was due to appear before South Somerset Magistrates’ Court this morning (February 7).
Three people charged with offences relating to the inquiry appeared at Taunton Crown Court for a preliminary hearing last month.
Luke Fuller, 24, of Kingston, Yeovil, Eleanor Dollery, 20, of Preston Road, Yeovil and Jon Smillie, 27, of Hathermead Gardens, Yeovil, were arrested after a series of police raids, including one at a home in Chard.
Mr Fuller and Ms Dollery, were both charged with trafficking persons within the UK for sexual exploitation and conspiracy to rape a woman aged 16 or over.
Mr Smillie, is charged with trafficking persons within the UK for sexual exploitation, raping a girl under 13 and controlling a child aged 13-17 involved in prostitution/ pornography.
The investigation began in August 2013 after police received information relating to sexual offences committed in Yeovil.
Two further people, a 44-year-old man and a 34-year-old man, have also been arrested in connection with this inquiry.
The 44-year-old has been released on bail until 4 March and the 34-year-old has been released on bail until 4 April.
