A WOMAN in her 70s was freed from a car which had ended up on its side on the A303 this morning (December 12).
Fire crews from Ilminster, Martock and Yeovil were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the A303 eastbound between the Southfields and South Petherton roundabouts shortly before 11.30am.
Crews stabilised the vehicle using a tirfor winch to make it safe enough to begin freeing her.
After removing vegatation to gain better access to the casualty, crews used small tools to remove her from the vehicle and handed over duty of care to paramedics.
The woman was taken to Yeovil District Hospital and her injuries were not thought to be serious.
