HOLYROOD Academy played host to a Quicksticks hockey tournament for its feeder primary schools last Wednesday (December 4), the fourth competitive sporting event held this term.
Ashill, Avishayes, Buckland St Mary, Combe St Nicholas, Chard, Manor Court, Tatworth and Winsham schools provided 12 teams consisting of 74 young players, who played on the school astro turf.
Each team played three pool games which led to two further ‘finals’ games, with the eventual winners of the competition being Avishayes and Tatworth, who will now represent the Holyrood cluster in the South Somerset District Finals to be played next year.
The event was supported and officiated by representatives from Chard Hockey Club.
