AN APPRENTICE with an Ilminster-based business has won a silver medal at the National Skill Build Final at the NEC in Birmingham.
Matt Baker of A & C Joinery won the South-West heat before beating off competition from 17 other apprentices from England, Scotland and Wales at the national finals to take second place in the joinery section.
He said: “I am really pleased I was in the top three. I was in the competition last year and didn’t get placed, so I am happy with my progression this year.”
Chris Russell, of A & C Joinery, added: “We are really proud of Matt and his achievements and ability to work to extremely high standards.”
