British Flag were third in the local feature class, followed by Marketeers in fourth, Griffens in fifth and Renegades in sixth.

RAMBLERS CC'S brilliant bug themed entry, Swarm Force, brought an end to Gremlins' decade of domination at Bridgwater Carnival.
Ramblers topped the local feature category, while Gremlins' dinosaur themed Xtinct was second.

What a night it's been for the tens of thousands of spectators.
IT'S nearly time for the procession to begin.
It remains to be seen what impact the weather will have - there are strong winds out there this evening.

Spectators are now taking their seats for what is said to be the biggest carnival in Europe. All of the 1,803 grandstand seats were sold two weeks prior to the big day.
At least 40 coaches and minibuses will be attending Bridgwater Carnival 2013, and already one coach company is even advertising a trip to Bridgwater Carnival 2014.
For anyone nervous about the weather rumours for later, the Met Office is predicting wind speeds of only 28mph.

Lorraine Hurley is the lucky winner of a raffle held earlier today by the Bridgwater Harley Owners Group.
The mother of three will be donning biker gear and riding on the back of a Harley in a group leading tonight’s procession.
She said: “I can’t believe I won. I’m not really nervous, just excited. It will be a right laugh and can’t wait.”

Wandering the streets of Bridgwater town centre today and this evening are 475 collectors who will be shaking their 500 collection buckets and are expected to collect over ½ a million coins.
Over the last 30 years, over £660,000 has been collected at Bridgwater Carnival and shared between local charities and Bridgwater Carnival.
This year 26 charities, including the Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival charity, will benefit from the 2013 Bridgwater Carnival collection.

1200 traffic cones, 176 road traffic signs, 770 crowd control barriers and 50 road closures are being set out by six members of the carnival committee in readiness for the 2013 carnival.
The first were laid at 6.30am today, and the last will be collected at 3am tomorrow. There will be 38 people manning road closure points during the event.
Thanks to the support and help from Sedgemoor District Council and other local businesses, over 6,000 car parking spaces have been allocated for carnival day.
Over a ¼ of a million light bulbs will light the skyline as the carts meander around the streets of Bridgwater from 7pm tonight.
Around 18 megawatts of electricity will be power the 50 carnival carts taking part in this year's carnival procession.
Bridgwater Carnival’s official Guy Fawkes cart, which traditionally leads the procession, will be lit by 900 low energy bulbs.

Some Carnival facts for 2013:
*Distance wise, it is just over two miles from the very first entry to the very last entry in the parade, and it will take 2½ hours to pass any one viewing point.
*Over 2,000 people are involved with the 128 entries in this year's event.
*185 people are expected to take part in the squibbing display, 15 minutes after the procession has finished. This will beat the previous record of 178 squibbers set at Bridgwater Carnival 2005.
* 2013 is the 408th anniversary of The Gunpowder Plot.
