Four-vehicle collision causes delays on M5 in Somerset

THE motorway has now re-opened. Motorists should be aware that they may still be delays are traffic flow recovers.
ONE lane is still closed on the M5 southbound carriageway between junction 24 for Bridgwater South and 25 for Taunton.

MOTORIST Richard Brooks said he has just hit the tailbacks on the slip road from junction 24 for Bridgwater.
He is heading south towards Taunton and said the all three lanes are jammed.
He added: "I have seen two or three police cars flying past.
"Every lane is just crawling, it is moving but very slow."
A SECOND incident between junction 24 for Bridgwater South and junction 25 for Taunton where a vehicle has collided with the central reservation is also causing delays for drivers on the motorway.
DRIVERS in Somerset faced delays on Monday morning following a collision involving four vehicles on the southbound carriageway of the M5.
The incident happened between junction 23, for Bridgwater North, and junction 24, for Bridgwater South, and saw one lane closed off to traffic.
The incident follows a serious collision on the M5 near Burnham on Sunday evening in which a vehicle overturned and a crash between two lorries on the M5 near Bridgwater on Friday.
