Could you switch on Ilminster's Christmas lights?
7:00pm Tuesday 22nd October 2013 in News
ILMINSTER’S Christmas lights switch-on is only six weeks away on Friday, November 22.
Though Santa Claus will be able to judge the fancy dress competition and the children’s lantern competition at 6pm in Greenfylde First School, he will not be able to switch the lights on personally this year as the time has changed to 7.30pm.
An appeal is going out for anyone who would like to take over the task, which signals the start of the festive period in the town, to come forward.
You can even nominate a friend or a relative.
Register your interest at Cottage Flowers, Harrimans, Ilminster Hardware or Bonners’ the Butchers by Wednesday, November 20, contributing a registration fee of 50p which will go towards the Victorian Night and Christmas Lights Committees.
The winner will be announced on November 21.
