Fond farewell to Sue
8:30am Saturday 31st August 2013 in News
IN the days when man first set foot on the moon and Concorde took her maiden flight, a young Sue Adams was starting work in Chard.
Now, almost 44 years later, she is saying goodbye to her friends and colleagues who have worked with her across the decades, and is looking forward to a well-earned retirement enjoying her passions of cookery and gardening.
Accepting her gifts from Yarlington Housing Group, Sue, who lives near Chard, looked back on her years serving the community from her role initially as a clerical assistant with the Chard Corporation and, following various re-organisations, culminating with her work in the customer service centre at Yarlington’s head office in Yeovil.
Sue’s line manager, Jody Underhill, said: “Sue has been a dedicated and hard-working member of the team and will be missed.”
That sentiment was echoed at a lunchtime presentation led by Yarlington’s assistant director, Nick Fry.
As she prepared to leave for the final time, Sue thanked all those she had worked with over the years for their support and for making her feel part of a family.
