Lenten lunch backs RNLI

Lenten lunch backs RNLI Lenten lunch backs RNLI

A LENTEN lunch at St John’s Church in Tatworth was a great success with more than 40 people attending.

They helped to raise funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, though the Rev Tim Price had to step in and save the day!

A Lenten Lunch is a simple meal of soup, bread or crackers, cheese and possibly some fruit to allow people to empathise in a small way with people who have little to eat.

Everything was going well at St John’s Churchrooms last week until the electricity failed at a particularly crucial moment, and the Rev Price had to cart the big pans of soup to the vicarage to finish the cooking!

The Chard branch of the RNLI would like to thank everyone for their support – the lunch raised £112.
