SOUTH Petherton beauty Sarah Beaufoy missed out on the Miss Galaxy England crown at the weekend and with it a place in the world finals.

She was representing Somerset in the final at the Park Hall Hotel in Lanc-ashire where she and 49 other contestants had to take part in four rounds – interview, evening wear, fashion wear and swim-wear.

The judges named Jaime-Lee Faulkner, of South Yorkshire, Miss Galaxy England 2013 and she will now travel to the United States for the world finals along with Miss Galaxy Scotland and Wales, Miss Teen Galaxy England, Scotland and Wales and Mrs Galaxy UK.

Sarah, who will now retire from beauty pageants as she nears the maximum age of 29, said: “Through competing in pageants I have met such lovely, driven girls from all across the country and I would really recommend them to young women.”

Sarah, a former Bath Spa University student, has a degree in fashion and textiles and has put her talents to good use with Beaufoy Beautiful Swimwear.
