Kindles are banned at Chard School

CHARD School has banned Kindles – electronic reading books – from the classroom.

Although headteacher Jane Bruce said in a newsletter that it was ‘wonderful’ that so many pupils had received a Kindle for Christmas, she added that it was still ‘very important’ for children to continue to read their school reading books at home.

“Children must remember to bring their books into school for reading on a daily basis,” she said. “Electronic devices of any sort are not allowed in school.”
