Open day at station

DEPUTY Mayor Cllr Sylvia Allman was among visitors to an open day at the Crewkerne railway station.

The event included an exhibition of the history project with old photos, a DVD of Yeovil station in steam days, a tour of the station master’s house thanks to Richard Keylock Accountancy, a raffle and model steam engines belonging to Geoff Clarke and John Coleshill in the booking office.

The Light Pacific steam engine Tangmere thundered through the station on the mainline.

The Friends of Crewkerne Station organised the event and members served passengers with refreshments on the station.

The Friends group meets every Thursday at 10.30am to work at the station.
