Salon ties up cash for charity

STAFF at Pure Beauty in Chard raised nearly £450 for charity through a tie sale in the run-up to Christmas.

The Fore Street salon sold hundreds of ties for the British Lung Foundation in memory of Bob Moore, who worked at the former Cleeve fashion factory in Chard.

Mr Moore, stepfather of beautician Jo Rattenbury’s partner, died in June last year aged 71 from a rare lung condition.

He had a collection of about 300 ties which were sold for a donation of £3 or more per garment.

Becky Curwood, of Pure Beauty, thanked everyone who contributed to the fundraising.

Any ties left over from the sale were given to the British Heart Foundation charity shop in Chard.
