DARING Colin Blackburn is going from ‘hair you go’ to ‘hair you grow’ to help raise money for charity this year.

Colin, the uncle of fundraising Chard schoolboy Logan McKer-row, had his head shaved on New Year’s Eve at the Hair’s Johnny salon in town, and is now being sponsored to go a whole year wit-hout having a haircut or a shave.

All funds will go towards the ongoing charity work of Logan, six, in aid of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

Logan hit the local and national headlines last year when he put an Olympic torch he made at school on internet auction website eBay – it has since gone on a relay nationwide and amassed over £30,000 for the charity.

His mum, Kerry, said: “Colin has so far been sponsored for nearly £400, but he won’t be having another haircut or shave until 2014, so he’ll be able to receive more sponsors throughout the year.

“I’d like to thank everyone who came and watched, and John Hewitt at Hair’s Johnny for doing the deed, but I’d obviously like to thank Colin most of all for doing this – fair play to him.”

Logan’s torch has been to 36 destinations around the country and clocked up a whopping 5,662 miles on its incredible journey.
