THE effectiveness of traffic lights at a busy junction in Chard has been hard to assess because of roadworks.
The MOVA – Microprocessor Optimised Vehicle Actuation – system was installed this summer at the A30/A358 crossroads in the centre of Chard to try and speed up traffic flow.
A South Somerset District Council report said the initial impact of the system was unclear because of lengthy roadworks at the Victoria Avenue and A30 roundabout near Tesco.
The report added that the junction was still operating close to capacity at peak times.
