OLDER villagers were able to get into the festive spirit when they enjoyed their Christmas Seniors Lunch at Seavington

The event was held at the community-run Seavington Store and Cafe. The lunch club meets on a monthly basis and the initiative allows them to get together for a chat and enjoy a locally-prepared hot meal.

A SSC spokesman Mark Ellis said: “The lunch club is proving very popular and as we can only sit 24 people it was sold out last month.

“This is a community project which allows the shop staff to give a little back to our village and affords our older residents a social event and some good healthy food.”
