Ex-Yeovil Town defender expected to sit out second leg for Doncaster Rovers
 |
| Defender Adam Lockwood |
FORMER Yeovil Town defender Adam Lockwood is unlikely to feature in tonight's big Coca-Cola League One semi-final second leg for Doncaster Rovers.
Lockwood, arguably one of the most consistent and dependable performers for the Glovers in recent times, moved back to his Yorkshire roots and Doncaster in 2006 and is now team captain.
But Lockwood has been forced to sit out the last weeks of the season because of a foot injury and although he is back training, it is unlikely that Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll will throw him back into the fray for tonight's League One semi-final second leg match with Southend United at the Keepmoat Stadium.
He first arrived at Huish Park from Reading in the early part of the 2001-02 season by the then Yeovil Town boss Gary Johnson.
Lockwood, who is comfortable either at right-back or centre-half, went on to make 171 appearances in all competitions and was a maintstay of the FA Trophy and Nationwide Conference winning Yeovil sides of 2002 and 2003 respectively.
Not only was Lockwood a "Steady Eddie" on the pitch for Yeovil, but he was also regarded as one of the "nicest blokes" off it as well.
