CHARD 2nd XI kept up their winning start to the season with a comprehensive nine-wicket win over Winscombe.
On a batting paradise, Winscombe struggled and were pegged back by a tight spell of bowling from Andy Cleal (3-29). S. Andow (54) held the innings together well, yet it was left to captain Neil Wyatt (4-17) to continue his fantastic form, along with part time seamer Andrew Clancy (2-6) to reduce Winscombe to 126 all out.
Chard never looked in trouble with Andy Bond (82 not out) batting superbly and Danny Cleal (24) seeing Chard to a fine victory.
Chard's title challenge is kept up this weekend, with recently relegated Uphill Castle doing the entertaining.
