Bird table for hospice help

AN ILMINSTER student rolled up his sleeves to help bring a smile to people at St Margaret's Somerset Hospice in Yeovil this week.

Ryan Grey, 15, from Wadham Community School in Crewkerne, designed and made a bird table for the charity after hearing about the good work they do.

He said: "I had heard about how well St Margaret's looked after someone, so I decided to make the bird table and hope that patients and visitors enjoy seeing the birds that use it."

Lynn Tanswell, estates manger, said: "So many of our patients comment on the pleasure they receive from watching the many birds which visit our gardens.

"We are grateful to Ryan for the time and effort he took in creating the bird table, which is already bringing much pleasure."

Pictured is Ryan presenting his bird table to St Margaret's Somerset Hospice physiotherapist assistant Sue Chorley with Wadham design and technology technician Ben Crofts.
