A CHANCE to experiment with coloured pencils is on offer at Ilminster Arts Centre’s latest workshop.

Coloured Pencils: Working in Monotone runs on Friday, March 30, from 10am to 3pm, with tutor Pauline Longley leading the workshop.

Pauline is a signature member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society and a self-taught artist, winning several awards.

The workshop will offer a chance for people to experiment with tone, using a single coloured pencil in a medium or dark shade, such as indigo, dark green, black, burnt sienna, sepia or deep red.

Those attending are urged to bring some reference pictures with them or if they prefer to draw from life, some leaves, flowers or shells would be ideal. Also required is some heavyweight smooth cartridge paper or smooth HP watercolour paper.

The course costs £15 and early booking is advised as places are limited.

Refreshments, light lunches and snacks will be available to buy from the Gallery Café – for more information contact Ilminster Arts Centre on 01460-55783 or follow the related link on this story.
