Folk performers at the Brewhouse

AWARD-WINNING Scottish trio Lau are coming to Taunton’s Brewhouse theatre on Wednesday, November 25.

Playing a mixture of experimental and traditional music, the group has become one of the most sought-after acts on the folk scene.

Their distinctive sound and infamous live shows have won them music industry plaudits, scooping best group at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for the past two years.

Vocalist and guitar player Kris Drever also bagged the Horizon Award for best newcomer at the ceremony in 2007.

On the piano accordion is Martin Green, who has played with leading folk singers including Joan Baez, Kathryn Tickell and Linda Thompson.

Completing the line-up is fiddle player and composer Aidan O’Rouke, who is a member of the hugely successful Blazin’ Fiddles and was voted Instrumentalist of the Year at the Scottish Traditional Music Awards in 2006.
