SOULFUL trio The Real Thing are playing the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil on Sunday, September 6.
Hailed as the best British soul band of all time, The Real Thing shot to fame in the 1970s with three number one hits - You To Me Are Everything, Can’t Get By Without You and Feel the Force.
They entered the Guinness Book Of Records as the UK’s best-selling black group of the late 70s and only fellow Liverpudlians The Beatles and Frankie Goes to Hollywood have had more singles in the all-time 100.
In more recent times they had their version of Eleanor Rigby on the chart album, Liverpool The Number Ones, and released a 35-track double record of their singles.
The concert, which starts at 7.30pm, features three of their original line-up – the Amoo brothers Chris and Eddy, and Dave Smith.
It will also include covers of favourites such as Celebration, Ladies Night and Ain’t No Stopping Us Now.
Tickets range from £15-£16. Contact the Octagon box office on 01935-422884 for further information.
