Weekend of high art activities set for Dillington House
9:00am Thursday 31st October 2013 in What's On
A WEEKEND of art activities take place at Dillington House next month.
Film-maker Phil Grabsky will offer presentations, debate, documentaries, commentary, food and wine on a residential weekend from November 29 to December 1 – prices start at £331 (full board accommodation, refreshments and wine with evening meals).
Art doesn’t come much bigger than Manet, Munch and Vermeer, who feature in this special weekend.
There will also be presentations and discussions about the purpose of visual arts in the past and today.
Grabsky will describe his involvement with major galleries, broadcasting live around the world and exhibitions of real significance, and will show his films.
Dillington director Wayne Bennett will be joined by speakers including writer and art historian James Russell, Xavier Bray and two local artists to unpack our relationship, asking the question What is Art for Today?
Day places are also available – see www.dillington.com
