MULTI award-winning singer and BBC Radio 2 presenter Clare Teal will perform in Taunton this summer.

Twice voted British Jazz Singer of the Year, the singer celebrates the music of her heroes and heroines, the leading lights of jazz and the big band world Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Judy Garland, Doris Day and many of their illustrious contemporaries.

Claire who hails from a small village in Yorkshire began singing at a very young age and said she was obsessed with singers of the 30s, the 40s and 50s.

She added: “I would often retreat upstairs into the attic with my grandmother's' 78s, and lose myself in them.”

Now, after signing with the Sony Jazz label in 2004, the British Jazz singer has a string of albums behind her including Don’t Talk which topped the British Jazz charts and cracked the UK top 20 selling 60,000 copies and winning several awards.
