Glastonbury 2011: Record crowd for Pulp set
1:50pm Sunday 26th June 2011 in Glastonbury By Rory McKeown
THE sun comes out at Glastonbury 2011.
A RECORD crowd enjoyed a rocking performance from Brit-pop legends Pulp at Glastonbury Festival 2011 yesterday.
Around 30,000 people crammed into The Park Stage area to witness Jarvis Cocker and co perform hits such as Common People, Disco 2000 and Sorted for Es and Whizz.
Their surprise appearance followed Radiohead’s stunning appearance on the same stage on Friday.
Festival fans are currently basking in scorching sunshine – a welcome relief from the torrential rain in the early stages of the spectacle.
As of Sunday, there have been 309 reported crimes – up by four from the previous year – and 123 arrests – an increase from 109 last year.
The estimated 137,616 pop fans on site are looking ahead to performances from headliners Beyonce, Queens of the Stone Age and The Streets, while Kaiser Chiefs, Plan B, Pendulum and the Eels are just some of the other famous acts expected to perform throughout the day.
