GREENSLADE Taylor Hunt is currently gearing up for its next specialist collectors sale, on Friday, June 8 and entries are arriving thick and fast.

Significant collections of antique and modern proof coins, tokens, stamps, postcards and cigarette cards have already been consigned, and there is an interesting section of militaria that includes medals, Great War memorial plaques, edged weapons, and uniforms.

As always there will be a good selection of toys, among them the Hornby Dublo locomotive pictured here. Diecast models, dolls, a private collection of dolls’ houses and associated furniture, and two sizeable ‘hugs’ of modern collectable teddy bears, by Steiff, Deans and Charlie Bears, are also due to be sold. A rare Stevens and Brown clockwork ‘Champion Velocipede’ from the 1870s should cause quite a stir, on both sides of the Atlantic, once the catalogue goes live on the internet.

In a fascinating group of railwayana you will find a locomotive cab-side numberplate, shed code plates, a G.W.R. stool, timetables, lamps, and further signage and equipment, alongside a library of reference books and printed ephemera.

Further entries are still being accepted for the sale and those considering selling their items are invited to contact the saleroom at antiques.saleroom@gth.net or on 01823 332525.
