THERE is speculation that the Cricket St Thomas manor house may be in the television spotlight later this year with a possible one-off Christmas special episode of the To the Manor Born comedy.
The sitcom, which ran between 1979 and 1981, was a massive success and once attracted an audience of nearly 24million viewers.
There is now talk in the entertainment business that the BBC is planning to bring the comedy back to the screens and reunite the central characters, Audrey Fforbes-Hamilton and Richard De Vere, played by Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles.
It is expected that the show will once again be based at Cricket St Thomas, although the BBC has yet to confirm its plans.
