Bruce FARRER

FARRER Bruce Passed away peacefully at home on 1st August 2018 aged 80 years. Bruce was schooled at King Edward's School, Bath. A Chartered Electrical Engineer, he became a Fellow of both the IEE and BIM, and worked extensively in East and West Africa and Saudi Arabia, retiring as the Managing Director of the Swaziland Electricity Board. He was granted the Freedom of the City of London in 1991. He played rugby and cricket for Bath RFC, Bath CC, Kenya Kongonis, Uganda Kobs, Chard CC, Dowlish Wake CC, and was VP of Broadway & Horton CC. For many years he was an active member of Ilminster Round Table, Ilminster 41 Club, Chard CLOS, a founding member of Heritage Theatre and proud supporter of Chard CLOKS. A much loved husband of the late Barbara, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed. A Service of Thanksgiving for his life will take place at St. Andrew's Church, Dowlish Wake on Friday 17th August at 2.30pm.
