KING née Cotton Joan Margaret 'Maggie' Passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 17th at South Petherton Community Hospital, after a brief but aggressive battle with brain cancer. Joan always spoke fondly of her youthful years in Kempston, Befordshire followed by an adventurous few years in Labrador before settling in Newfoundland with her husband of 45 years (deceased February 2007). Joan spent much of her 50+ years in Newfoundland volunteering for groups such as the Cancer Society and the local Library board and was involved in many groups including the Woman's Institute. As would be her wish, in lieu of flowers, donations made to Cancer Research UK would be appreciated these may be given at the service or sent c/o B. Gibbs Funeral Services.
